NATIONAL POINTS LIST
(Points Rules)

1.1
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL:
The National Competitor registration due date is December
1, 2009. (The new Racer Registration spreadsheet or csv
file must be sent). Each member must be registered at ACA to
appear on the National Point List. The new Racer Registration Program or the
format of the Racer Registration spreadsheet is available through your
division office. (Forms sent by FAX will not be accepted).
1.2
NATIONAL RULES for
ACA POINTS & RACES:
1.2.1
FIS equipment rules must
be used for National training and race events. E.g. Alpine race helmets
must be used at all levels of National events - Entry Level to Mastres .
1.2.2
National Super ‘G’ races
should be run on a FIS SG or GS homologated course or on a SG course with
National Technical Inspection certification.
1.2.3
National
races including JA & B and Master competitors – these competitors should
be categorized in their own race event, have their own race penalty and not
be part of the K1 and K2 penalty
calculation.
1.2.4
Kinder races
are allowed a maximum of 20 point races per year. Junior races are allowed
a maximum of 30 point races per year
1.2.5
National CalendaredSL
& GS ‘1 Run Races’
will be scored as0.5toward the maximum number of points races
a Racer is allowed per year.
1.2.6
National calendared ‘2 RUNraces’as well as ‘1 RUN’ DH, SG and KK will be scored
as 1.0 toward the maximum number
of points races a Racer is allowed per year.
1.2.7
National calendared ‘2 RUN races’ that have the second
run cancelled will be scored as 1.0 toward the maximum of
points races a Racer is allowed in per year.
1.2.8
The National Kinder
Kombi ‘F’ factor will be used
for both Technical ‘SL – GS’ Kombi races and Speed ‘SG – GS’ Kombi races
1.2.9
Kinder Kombi “F” Factor
is the average of the SL & GS “F” Factor
1.2.10
The Maximum National
race points is 999.00
1.2.11
Technical Delegate must
confirm the computer race program being used provides correct ACA penalty
calculation fill-ins and maximum values, and also provides correct
competitor race points for all disciplines, SL, GS, SG, SC, KK
1.2.12
National race results
will automatically default to “Yes” for scoring when uploaded. If race is not
to be scored, Dick Bearerbeare@shaw.ca – ACA Points Chair,the respective PSO Officials Chair and the National
Officials Chair officials@canski.org
must be notified.
1.2.13
All protests related to
scoring or not scoring a National race will be handled by the National Officials
Committee. This committee, made up of the PSO Officials Chairs of ON, SQA, AB,
BC and CD will determine the race outcome. Protests must be directed to the
National Officials Chair at officials@canski.org
The 2009-2010 fall points list is valid and available for
consultation or download at http://www.acapoints.ca
Starting December 2nd, 2009
there will be a new point list calculated and posted at http://www.acapoints.ca every week. Each
new list will be updated and valid on every Wednesday.
1.5
RACE RESULTS SUBMISSION:
Race results “ELIGIBLE” for National points must be
submitted after the race under the National
"XML" format to the web site at URL: http://www.acapoints.ca. No e-mail,
fax or courier format will be accepted. A race results acceptance
code and comments will be generated on line as you are transferring your
results. (Race Results must be received before 20H00 M.S.T.each
Tuesday in order for your results to appear on the Wednesday published list.
Please Note: Races containing recreational Racers will NOT
be accepted. These Racers must be removed from the upload file and must not
be used in the penalty calculations.

RACE POINTS
CALCULATION:
1.6.1
The formula for the calculation
of the race points permits the translation into points of the time
differences between the winner and all other classified competitors.
1.6.2
The formula for the
calculation of the race points is the following:
P=((F x Tx) / To) - F or P = ((Tx / To) -1) x F
P: Race Points
To: Time of the winner in seconds Tx: Time of the classified competitors in
seconds

different events are for 2009-2010;

1.6.4
The race points are
needed to establish the ranking for a race in connection with the NATIONAL
points of the competitors, for determining the race penalty.
1.7
NATIONAL
POINTS:
The NATIONAL points lists based on the following rules form the basis for
the division of the competitors according to points. The corresponding
commentary is part of these competition rules and will be renewed annually.
The NATIONAL points are used particularly for:
Establishing the quotas at competitions
As a basis for the grouping and draw of the
competitors at races and in training
Establishing the race penalty (in connection
with the race points)
Establishing the penalties for injury status
and because of professional obligations etc.
Establishing the qualifications for the
existing competition categories
1.7.1
NATIONAL POINTS
CALCULATIONS RULES:
There are (5) rules governing the National Points Systems;
a) Fall Points
b) (Fall Points + Best Result) / 2
c) (Best Result + 2nd Best Result) / 2
d) Best Result + 20%
e)FIS Points if less than the
above calculated National Points
*Points can not increase during
the season
** At the end of the season
(Last List) same points rules are applied except Fall Points are increased
by 20% before calculations.
1.8
PENALTY
CALCULATIONS:
The maximum penalty value for a National Level race is 500.00.
The “Fill In” point is to be use in case there are less then five racers
with NATIONAL points is 500.00 for all discipline. This fill in must
also be use if the racer’s points are over 500.00
If less than 5 competitors in the
penalty calculation, the seed fill-in is 500.00, the race point fill-in is 0.00
There will be no “ADDER” used at National Level Races in 2009-2010
There will be no “Z” factor’s used at the National Level Races in
2009-2010
1.9
RACER
ELAGIBILITY:
All Racers regardless of nationality, that have registered with Alpine
Canada Alpin and who have purchased a Canadian National Card or a Canadian
FIS Card (in conjunction with their national card), are
eligible to gain Canadian National Points and be ranked on the
www.acapoints.ca web site.
No National Races will upload that contain foreign
(including US) racers. Foreign carded athletes must be removed prior to the
penalty calculation and uploading.
No National Races will upload that contain Recreational Racers,
Recreational Racers must be removed prior penalty the penalty calculations
and uploading.
